GCC Supreme Council's 44th session begins in Doha, led by Prince Mohammed

Doha, December 05, 2023, The 44th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Supreme Council commenced today in Doha, with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at the helm of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation.


The day began with a significant moment as leaders and heads of delegations from the GCC states gathered for a family photo, capturing the collaborative spirit of the occasion. The first session unfolded with a keynote address by the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who extended a warm welcome to the leaders and delegates. In his speech, he expressed gratitude to the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq, for his dedicated efforts in fortifying the unity and achievements of the Cooperation Council during his presidency of the previous session.


Following the first session, President of the Republic of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, joined the assembled leaders in the reception hall. Another family photo marked the beginning of the second session, during which the Doha Declaration and the final statement of the 44th GCC Supreme Council session were issued.


The official delegation accompanying His Royal Highness the Crown Prince comprised key figures, including Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State and Cabinet Member Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, and Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet, and National Security Adviser Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban. Their presence emphasized the Kingdom's commitment to active participation and collaboration in the deliberations of the GCC Supreme Council.
