GDNC in Jeddah arrests nine in drug-related incident, including a smuggler

Jeddah, February 20, 2024, The General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) in Jeddah Governorate has successfully apprehended nine individuals involved in a drug-related incident, comprising one smuggler, two expatriates on visit visas, and six Pakistani residents. The arrests were made in connection with an attempted sale of 3.7 kilograms of methamphetamine. Subsequently, the nine individuals have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.

Security authorities emphasize the importance of community involvement in combating drug-related crimes. Citizens and residents are encouraged to report any instances of drug smuggling they become aware of. Reporting can be done by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern regions, or 999 in other regions of the Kingdom. Additionally, individuals can reach out to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control at 995 or via email at [email protected]. All reports will be treated with utmost confidentiality to ensure the safety and security of the community.
