Madinah, October 20, 2024 – The 2024 Madinah Dates Season exhibition, held adjacent to the historic Quba Mosque, has become a vibrant platform for women and girls from the Madinah region, who are showcasing their talents and entrepreneurial spirit. This year’s event features a diverse array of activities, including arts and cooking workshops, crowd management, marketing initiatives, and the display of various types of dates and date by-products.

Malak Al-Juhani, a date vendor participating in the exhibition for the second time, expressed her enthusiasm about the event's impact on her business. With improved marketing skills gained from previous experiences, she has successfully increased her sales and effectively catered to visitors eager to purchase popular varieties of dates. Her journey underscores the potential of local women to thrive in the market while promoting the region's rich agricultural heritage.

Chef Enayat Anbar Khan, a seasoned expert with over 17 years of experience in culinary arts, has also played a significant role at the exhibition. She leads workshops focused on date processing and traditional crafts, aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of participants. Chef Enayat noted that these workshops not only empower women but also create an invaluable space for the exchange of expertise. Additionally, her interactive tasting and cooking section provides insights into the nutritional value of dates, alongside a variety of innovative recipes that highlight this local delicacy.

In addition to culinary offerings, a group of talented women specializing in sewing, embroidery, engraving, and wood carving are showcasing their professional skills at the exhibition. Their participation not only promotes traditional crafts but also includes hands-on training for visitors, encouraging them to engage with these artisanal practices. As a delightful incentive, attendees are offered gifts created by these artisans, further enhancing the exhibition experience.

The event also features sections dedicated to families working in the cottage industry, displaying over 30 varieties of traditional dishes alongside an array of date-based juices and products. This initiative not only highlights the culinary richness of the region but also fosters community engagement, showcasing the hard work and creativity of local families.

Overall, the 2024 Madinah Dates Season exhibition stands as a testament to the empowerment of women and the celebration of local culture. By providing a platform for women to demonstrate their skills and entrepreneurial capabilities, the event significantly contributes to the economic and social development of the Madinah region, reinforcing the importance of community and tradition in contemporary society.
