The General Authority for Statistics has unveiled a detailed bulletin of culture and entertainment statistics covering the period from mid-2022 to mid-2023 on its official website. According to the findings, a substantial 80% of the Kingdom's population aged 15 and above have attended cultural events or activities, with an impressive 90% having visited venues hosting events or entertainment activities.
The bulletin further reveals that 13% of individuals participated in national celebrations, while 11% enjoyed cinema outings. Additionally, 39% of Saudi individuals attended a Saudi entertainment season, while the figure stood at 36% for non-Saudi individuals.
For those who did not partake in cultural events (20%), 40% cited time constraints as the primary obstacle. Interestingly, 23% engaged in walking activities, and 19% dedicated their leisure time to playing football.
Reading habits were also explored, with 37% having read at least one book in the past 12 months, 21% reading newspapers, and 7% opting for magazines.
The comprehensive cultural and entertainment statistics bulletin sheds light on the diverse experiences and practices of individuals aged 15 and above, based on data collected through a survey conducted by the General Authority for Statistics in 2023 via phone calls.
