Jeddah, April 02, 2025 – The Islamic Arts Biennale, organized by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation under the theme "And All That Is In Between," is currently being held at the Western Hajj Terminal in Jeddah's King Abdulaziz International Airport until May 25. This major cultural event attracts Islamic art enthusiasts from around the world, offering a distinctive exploration of Islamic creativity.
A key highlight of the Biennale is the "AlMunawwarah" section, which presents a fascinating showcase of Madinah's cultural and spiritual heritage. This section combines a peaceful spiritual atmosphere with architectural designs inspired by the Prophet's Mosque. It features beautifully gilded green textiles, where golden threads depict the mosque's magnificence and veneration, illustrating the long-standing creativity in Islamic art.
These textiles, used for over 1,200 years, symbolize respect for the Prophet's Mosque, acting not only as protective coverings but also as symbols of admiration from leaders and scholars throughout history. The AlMunawwarah section offers visitors a unique experience, blending ancient heritage with modern art and inviting them to reflect on the beauty and historical significance of these gilded textiles, creating a journey that connects the past with the present in a deeply spiritual manner.
