GOSI Conducts over 13,000 Visits to Promote Occupational Safety and Health

On October 21, 2024, the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) released its occupational safety and health statistics and achievements for the third quarter (Q3) of 2024. In its press release, GOSI outlined its ongoing efforts to promote and ensure compliance with safety standards in workplaces across Saudi Arabia, reinforcing its commitment to worker safety and welfare.

During Q3, GOSI conducted over 13,000 visits to various establishments in a wide range of sectors. These visits were part of its broader initiative to enhance awareness and ensure compliance with occupational safety and health (OSH) regulations. The organization’s focus is on maintaining high safety standards in workplaces, helping to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries, and ensuring that employers adhere to essential health and safety guidelines.

GOSI provided direct assistance in the field of occupational safety and health to 8,100 establishments, which significantly contributed to the overall improvement in compliance with safety standards. This initiative resulted in an impressive 92% compliance rate among the assisted entities, demonstrating GOSI's success in fostering safer working environments.

In addition to these efforts, GOSI issued occupational safety and health certificates to 24,000 establishments during the quarter. These certifications reflect the adherence of these entities to the highest safety principles and underscore the importance of maintaining safe working conditions for all employees. To further support its safety initiatives, GOSI also held six awareness workshops, aimed at educating employers and employees alike on the importance of safety regulations and best practices in occupational health.

These proactive efforts by GOSI highlight its role in safeguarding workers' well-being and fostering a culture of safety in the workplace. By promoting compliance and offering support through certifications, workshops, and direct visits, GOSI continues to play a pivotal role in enhancing occupational safety across Saudi Arabia’s labor market.
