The Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) and Abdul Latif Jameel Motors, an authorized Toyota distributor in Saudi Arabia for almost 70 years, are pleased to announce the launch of the Gazoo Racing (GR) Saudi Driving School. Between August 15 and August 20, 2023, the temporary school will begin operations in the Jeddah Corniche Circuit parking area. 60 participants were chosen from a whopping 2000 registrations, 20 of whom came from each of Jeddah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Region. Notably, the presence of nine female competitors highlights the rising enthusiasm among women to participate in racing. The GR Saudi Driving School is more than just a place for training; it's a forward-thinking initiative created to find, develop, and elevate the future generation of racers for the GR Saudi Team in four thrilling disciplines: time attack, hill climb, drift, and autocross. Five students from each region will be chosen for the final 15 after a demanding two-day training program. The Jeddah Corniche Circuit will then host a final training session and evaluation for these 15. Out of these, the GR Saudi Team will select four outstanding racers to compete in the prestigious Saudi Toyota Championship.
Chairman of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Bin Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal stated, "With 60 participants, the GR Saudi Driving School is not just about finding potential; it's about defining the future of motorsports in Saudi Arabia. In keeping with Vision 2030, we are developing a comprehensive ecosystem that seeks out and develops talent, establishing Saudi Arabia as a major motorsports center. This project demonstrates our dedication to giving ambitious drivers the chance to present their abilities on national and worldwide stages. We have faith in the potential of our kids.
