Makkah, August 27, 2023, Dr. Shawki Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, praised the leadership of HRH the Crown Prince and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for the Kingdom's pioneering role in safeguarding and advancing the Quran's teachings. He also commended Saudi Arabia for encouraging and supporting young Muslims to compete in Quran recitation and memorizing contests. The Egyptian Grand Mufti stated that this event is a "blessed international Islamic gathering" when Muslims from all over the world come together to spread the message of tolerance, peace, and moderation through Islam in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The Grand Mufti also praised the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance for their work in ensuring the competition's activities were successful and for the inclusivity shown by the participation of different nations, underscoring the event's exceptional value as a venue for Quran memorization.
