GSO and YSMO sign agreements to boost cooperation in standardization

Aden, March 6, 2024, The GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) has inked agreements with the Yemen Standardization, Metrology, and Quality Control Organization (YSMO) to enhance cooperation. The first agreement focuses on providing services for operating and developing the issuance of energy efficiency cards, while the second agreement pertains to the development and operation of an e-store for publishing and selling standards.

The signing ceremony was attended by GSO President Saud Al-Khusaibi, YSMO Director General Eng. Hadid Al-Mass, and Yemeni Minister of Industry and Trade Mohammed Al-Ashwal.

The e-store agreement is designed to streamline access to Yemeni, GCC, and ISO standards, ensuring a swift and convenient way to obtain the necessary standards. This initiative is expected to contribute to the dissemination of standards, fostering accessibility and adherence.

The second agreement focuses on energy efficiency cards, aiming to contribute to economic, environmental, and social sustainability. This involves measures to conserve energy, reduce energy costs, and safeguard the environment, aligning with broader goals of sustainable development. These collaborative efforts between GSO and YSMO underscore the commitment to standards, efficiency, and sustainability in the region.
