LONDON March 29, 2025: The Professional Fighters League has confirmed that Paris native Mansour “Tarzan” Barnaoui (22-6) will take on the undefeated Archie “King” Colgan (11-0) in a highly anticipated lightweight showdown, with both fighters aiming to secure a future title shot.
Barnaoui boasts an impressive record, with 15 submission victories and six KO/TKOs, having finished all but one of his professional wins inside the distance. Notably, he has never been stopped and will step into the SmartCage on May 24, determined to triumph in front of his Parisian supporters.
Colgan, an NCAA Division 1 wrestler, remains unbeaten in MMA and has solidified his reputation as one of the division’s most dominant fighters. Having trained alongside legends like Justin Gaethje and Kamaru Usman, he is prepared to challenge Barnaoui’s homecoming with a statement victory.
The event will also feature a Belgian lightweight clash between the undefeated Patrick “The Belgian Bomber” Habirora (6-0) and Nicolas Di Franco (10-4-1).
Habirora, with an unblemished professional record and a strong amateur background, has built a devoted fanbase through his past two PFL appearances. His upcoming bout is highly anticipated, while Di Franco makes his PFL debut just two weeks after his brother Sebastien, who is set to compete in the PFL Europe Lightweight Tournament in Belfast on May 10. The Di Franco brothers aim to leave a significant mark on the promotion in 2025.
Additionally, new PFL signing Taylor “Double Impact” Lapilus (21-4) will make his promotional debut in Paris, though his opponent has yet to be announced.
“I have a huge opportunity at the Accor Arena on May 24 to make a statement and finish an undefeated fighter,” Barnaoui stated. “Colgan is an excellent opponent, but when my hand is raised, the PFL will know they have a true lightweight contender. The French crowd will bring the energy, and I will bring the fight.”
Colgan responded: “Paris, I’m back and ready to prove why I’m one of the best lightweights in the world. The fans create an amazing atmosphere, and I plan to put on a show at the Accor Arena. See you inside the SmartCage on May 24.”
PFL CEO Peter Murray added: “Paris is a special location for the PFL. The French fans create an electric atmosphere every time we bring the SmartCage, making this a must-visit destination.
“Barnaoui always hunts for the finish, but Colgan has never been stopped. French fans will witness what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. Meanwhile, Patrick Habirora’s rising star will be tested against his Belgian compatriot, Nicolas Di Franco, in what promises to be an action-packed night.”
