Riyadh, Sep 1, 2023, The Next World Forum saw the formation of the Gulf Federation for Electronic Sports on Thursday. Through yearly competitions that all nations sponsor, the organization's goal is to encourage, foster, and develop Gulf talent. Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, the chairman of the Saudi E-Sports Federation's board of directors, as well as leaders and officials from other e-sports federations in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), attended the announcement. At the Next World Forum in Riyadh, which brings together leaders and experts from the gaming and e-sports industries from around the world and focuses on advancing the sector and fostering collaboration between public and private organizations to develop it, a total of 14 memoranda of understanding (MOU) and agreements were signed.
The agreements, which covered topics including federations, sponsorships, recommended values, and education, were inked as part of the events leading up to "Gamers Season: Land of Champions," the world's biggest gaming and e-sports event.
MOUs were signed between the Saudi E-Sports Federation and its equivalents in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and the UAE in addition to the founding agreement, with the objective of exchanging experiences and cooperating in areas of educational curricula and e-sports through staging and broadcasting competitions.
On the government side, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between the Ministry of Education and the Saudi E-Sports Federation in the presence of the Undersecretary for Educational Programs, Dr. Saad Al-Harbi, to discuss ways of cooperation regarding fostering an e-sports culture among members of the educational community and developing the key competencies of students and human resources with specialized knowledge of the industry.
The Saudi E-Sports Federation and the Saudi Tourism Authority also signed an MOU to enhance the visitor experience and promote the Gamers Season, in addition to an agreement for global tourist experiences and loyalty programs.
The Prince Mohammed bin Salman College of Business and Entrepreneurship and the E-Sports Federation have inked memoranda of understanding, and the Social Development Bank also signed two memoranda of understanding with Vanguard and Sandsoft. In terms of sponsorship, stc play and LG signed an MOU, the Saudi E-Sports Federation and KFC signed a contract, and stc play and Geekay Esports signed another.
