Riyadh, November 21, 2024 – The Ministry of Tourism has announced a remarkable surge in tourism to Saudi Arabia’s Hail Region during the first half of 2024, with nearly 1.1 million visitors flocking to the area. This strong performance is a testament to the region's growing appeal as a key tourism destination, both for international travelers and domestic tourists alike. According to the latest figures released by the ministry, approximately 170,000 international visitors and more than 907,000 domestic tourists contributed to this impressive influx.

The surge in tourism is reflective of the broader trend in Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector, which has been expanding rapidly as the Kingdom continues to diversify its economy and enhance its position as a global tourism hub. The Hail Region, known for its rich history, diverse cultural heritage, and stunning natural landscapes, has seen increased investment and attention in recent years as part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals to develop the country's tourism infrastructure.

The data also highlights the growth of the region's hospitality sector. The number of licensed rooms in hospitality facilities across Hail has now reached approximately 2,600, providing ample accommodation options for both domestic and international tourists. This expansion of the region's hospitality infrastructure aligns with the increased demand for tourism services, driven by the growing number of visitors. The continued development of hotels, resorts, and other tourist facilities is expected to further bolster the region’s tourism industry and support the Kingdom's broader objectives for sustainable tourism growth.

This surge in tourism is seen as a positive step in the realization of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which aims to attract 100 million annual visitors by 2030. Hail, with its combination of historical sites, natural wonders, and cultural attractions, is poised to play a key role in the country's broader tourism strategy. The influx of both international and domestic tourists underscores the region's growing reputation as a diverse and exciting destination within the Kingdom.

As Saudi Arabia continues to invest in infrastructure and promotional campaigns to attract tourists from around the world, the Hail Region is expected to see even further growth in the coming months, cementing its place as a key destination within the Kingdom's rapidly expanding tourism sector.
