Haramain High Speed Railway serves 1.2 million passengers

JEDDAH, March 31, 2025: Saudi Arabia Railways successfully executed its Ramadan operational plan, resulting in a 21 percent increase in passenger numbers compared to the previous year.
A total of 1.2 million passengers were transported through 3,310 trips on the Haramain High Speed Railway, which connects Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, King Abdulaziz International Airport, and King Abdullah Economic City.
The daily average during Ramadan was 40,000 passengers, according to the Saudi Press Agency on Sunday.
The railway maintained excellent punctuality and safety, with an on-time performance rate of 99.5 percent, the SPA reported.
A record 48,000 passengers were transported on the 15th of Ramadan, underscoring the railway’s dedication to offering safe, high-quality transport for Umrah pilgrims and visitors during Ramadan.
