HCI Conference begins at King Abdulaziz International Convention Center, led by HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman

Riyadh, February 28, 2024, Under the esteemed patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Human Capability Initiative (HCI) Conference commenced at the King Abdulaziz International Convention Center. The two-day event has brought together more than 200 global leaders and experts to engage in discussions on unleashing human potential and fostering international collaboration to enhance adaptability in times of uncertainty.

In his opening remarks, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Human Capability Development Program, Yousef Al Benyan, highlighted the significance of HCI as a manifestation of Saudi Arabia's commitment to contributing to the global discourse on human capability development. The conference aims to present actionable strategies and solutions that drive progress in this crucial domain.

Al Benyan pointed out that nearly 40% of workers' skills are anticipated to undergo disruption in the next five years, with technology poised to transform 75% of global business practices. Emphasizing the pivotal role of human capital in navigating a dynamic labor market, he underscored the necessity for comprehensive efforts to enhance human capabilities.

"The success of industrial developments in green technology, healthcare, generative technology, and artificial intelligence hinges on a future-proof workforce equipped with the necessary skills," stated Al Benyan, aligning HCI with the objectives of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. He highlighted the conference's goal to equip individuals with skills and knowledge essential for navigating the evolving job market, ultimately contributing to empowered individuals and resilient economies for the future.

Al Benyan also highlighted the Kingdom's Human Capability Development Program, a comprehensive strategy designed to empower individuals throughout their learning journey and unlock their full potential. This strategy prioritizes collaboration among government agencies, the private sector, and non-profit organizations to ensure collective success and prosperity.

"The Kingdom welcomes collaboration with all stakeholders to explore opportunities and design innovative policies and solutions that enhance human capabilities," he affirmed. The impending signing of 45 agreements at the conference reflects the Kingdom's commitment to international collaboration, with representatives from over 70 countries sharing the mission of unlocking human potential. This collective effort is poised to pave the way for a future where human capabilities are maximized for the benefit of individuals and societies worldwide.
