Headquarters agreement signed in Riyadh for UN-Habitat office in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, October 12, 2023, The headquarters agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the office of the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) was signed in Riyadh by Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, acting in place of Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah. Erfan Ali, chief of staff at UN-Habitat, signed the contract. Al-Rassi expressed his appreciation for the agreement and emphasized the need to deepen the collaborative process in light of the Kingdom's 2030 Vision, which aims to host international organizations and support the achievement of sustainable development goals.

In the UN system, UN-Habitat serves as the coordinating organization for all matters related to urbanization and human settlements and seeks to promote socially and environmentally sustainable nations and cities.
