Muscat, October 01, 2023, The Minister of Health, Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, participated in the 86th meeting of the Council of Health Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, alongside the ninth meeting of the GCC Health Ministers' Committee. This gathering aimed to enhance healthcare cooperation among GCC nations, adapting their healthcare systems to incorporate emerging technologies like the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence while ensuring the delivery of top-notch healthcare services.
During the summit, significant decisions were made, addressing a broad spectrum of health-related issues affecting GCC countries and their populations. Furthermore, the 86th meeting included discussions on various health-related topics and areas, such as the approval of the Gulf Centre for Disease Prevention and Control's 2024 plan and collaborative mechanisms with the health ministries of Yemen and the Cooperation Council countries. These deliberations contribute to the ongoing efforts to advance healthcare in the GCC region.
