June 21, 2024 in Riyadh. For the Hajj season of 1445 AH took serious note, among other things, of the challenges associated with providing medical care to pilgrims through efficiently chord health work executions across various government departments, which is the focus of Health Sector Transformation Program— the cornerstone of Saudi Vision 2030. The health sector this year has tended to more than 1.8 million pilgrims since its commencement. Exceeding 390,000 people have accessed medical attention through group services using 189 hospitals and health centers, mobile clinics, 370 fully equipped ambulances, seven air ambulances, and five medical evacuation planes from the Ministry of Defense. Over 40,000 medical, administrative, and technical staff, along with more than 159 field people, have been working relentlessly to treat pilgrims and offering them medical supplies around the clock.

The program reportedly included around five thousand volunteers from the Health Volunteering Center throughout the entire season. It also deployed several mobile units of infectious diseases at holy sites, distributed food, and disseminated medical awareness and guidance messages in nine languages to show support. The Health Sector Transformation Program showed that the Virtual Health Hospital played a huge role by providing remote medical care to more than 5,800 pilgrims during Hajj season. There have been at least 28 open-heart surgeries, more than 720 cardiac catheterizations, and more than 1,169 dialysis sessions performed on pilgrims since the beginning of the season.

These efforts are evidence of the Kingdom's leadership's dedication to the safety and health of pilgrims, as well as the alignment of the health system with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030 and the Health Sector Transformation Programme. The latter program places an emphasis on human health by collaborating with government agencies to implement health transformation initiatives.
