Heavy rain, hail forecasted in Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, Riyadh

Riyadh, April 12, 2024, Parts of Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Riyadh are expected to experience moderate to heavy rain accompanied by hailstorms, as forecasted by the National Center for Meteorology. Additionally, fog is anticipated to blanket portions of the mountains in these regions as well as Al-Jawf Province. Dust-stirring winds are predicted to sweep through the Madinah and Eastern regions.

Over the Red Sea, winds will predominantly be northerly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from 15 to 35 km/h in the northern part and up to 45 km/h in the central part. In the southern part, the winds will shift from southwesterly to northwesterly, maintaining speeds of 15 to 45 km/h. Waves are expected to measure between one to two meters in the central part and from half a meter to two and a half meters in the northern and central parts, leading to varying sea conditions from calm to choppy.

Moving to the Arabian Gulf, southwesterly winds will prevail, ranging from 12 to 32 km/h in the northern part. In the southern part, the winds will shift from westerly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from 15 to 45 km/h. Waves in this region are forecasted to be between half to one meter, resulting in a mix of calm to choppy sea conditions.
