Riyadh, February 21, 2024, The Heritage Commission has successfully concluded the fourth season of archaeological excavation at the Dhariyah site in the Al-Qassim region, Saudi Arabia. Led by a team of Saudi experts, the excavations aimed to uncover valuable evidence and scientific data to enhance the understanding of the site's historical layers and provide an accurate historical description. The results included the discovery of architectural features and artifacts dating back to the Abbasid era, highlighting the strategic importance of Dhariyah for pilgrims and trade caravans. The initiative aligns with the Heritage Commission's commitment to scientific endeavors, aiming to safeguard and promote national archaeological sites in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Culture Strategy.
