Dr. Mehmood Khan, CEO of the Hevolution Foundation, inaugurated the first Global Healthspan Summit in Riyadh, featuring 120 speakers and 2000 delegates. The summit focuses on collaboratively shaping a healthier future for aging societies. Stakeholders from various sectors, including health, pharmaceuticals, and academia, engaged in dynamic discussions on healthspan science, entrepreneurship, and international collaboration.

Key initiatives announced include the SAR379 million ($101 million) XPRIZE Healthspan and the Breakthrough Innovation Alliance, with a total funding commitment of SAR375 million ($100 million) during the two-day event. These efforts aim to propel scientific advancements for healthier aging globally.

Dr. Khan emphasized the urgency of transforming aging perspectives and translating scientific progress into practical solutions. The summit continues its exploration of healthspan science and longevity, anticipating further funding announcements to shift the global focus from lifespan to healthspan. The event is timely as the world undergoes a demographic shift, with the global population over 60 years old projected to double to 2 billion by 2050.
