Holy Makkah Municipality expands volunteer efforts during Ramadan’s final ten days.

Makkah, March 28, 2025 – During the final ten days of Ramadan, the Holy Makkah Municipality is expanding its volunteer initiatives to enhance services for Umrah performers and worshippers at the Grand Mosque.

A key initiative under the “Support of the Two Holy Mosques” program, in partnership with the Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Waqf and 400 volunteers, is the distribution of 300,000 meals. This effort aims to enrich the experience of worshippers, foster a culture of giving, and uphold Islamic values of hospitality and generosity, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s commitment to serving visitors to the Two Holy Mosques.

Volunteers from diverse community groups are actively participating by offering guidance, assisting with sanitation, and managing pedestrian flow around the Grand Mosque. Additionally, iftar and suhoor meals are being provided in collaboration with charities and relevant authorities, reinforcing social solidarity and generosity.

The municipality highlighted that these initiatives align with its goal of promoting volunteerism, in line with Vision 2030's objectives to improve services for Umrah performers. It commended the volunteers for their vital contributions, which are instrumental in the success of these efforts.

Volunteer programs will continue until the end of Ramadan, with intensified efforts during these sacred days to ensure the comfort and safety of visitors and pilgrims, allowing them to perform their worship in a peaceful and spiritually enriching environment.
