Riyadh, November 3, 2024 – In a significant move towards promoting sustainable urban development, the Housing Program, a key initiative under Saudi Vision 2030, is set to participate in the twelfth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12) in Cairo, Egypt. This prominent event, organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat), will take place from November 4 to 8, 2024.
Leading the Saudi delegation will be Aiman Saleh, CEO of the Housing Program, who will engage in a pivotal high-level dialogue session entitled “Advancing Inclusive Efforts for Housing Strategies Across the Arab Region.” This session aims to address critical outcomes and identify opportunities for enhancing housing strategies while expanding access to affordable housing across the region. Participants will include representatives from key government agencies within the housing sector, fostering a collaborative environment for sharing insights and best practices.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will also present a dedicated pavilion at WUF12, covering an impressive area of over 3,000 square meters. This pavilion will serve as a hub for a variety of activities, workshops, and dialogue sessions, featuring more than 40 interactive events designed to showcase the Kingdom’s advancements in sustainable urban planning.
More than 150 representatives from various Saudi entities will participate in the forum, highlighting the nation’s commitment to shaping inclusive housing solutions and demonstrating its leadership in sustainable urban development. The forum provides an important platform for Saudi Arabia to share its experiences, innovations, and strategies with an international audience, reinforcing its role as a proactive contributor to the global discourse on housing and urbanization.
