HRH the Crown Prince Chairs Cabinet Session


On September 18, 2024, in Riyadh, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud presided over a Cabinet meeting. During the session, the Crown Prince shared insights from a recent letter he received from Angola's president, along with details from his discussions with Egypt's prime minister and China's premier. The Cabinet praised the outcomes of the Fourth Meeting of the High-Level Saudi-Chinese Joint Committee, which underscored the robust strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and China, focusing on collaboration in various sectors such as politics, security, military, energy, trade, investment, finance, science, technology, culture, and tourism.



The Cabinet also recognized the successful discussions held by Egypt's prime minister with senior Saudi officials, reinforcing the strong fraternal ties between the two nations and their mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation for the benefit of their peoples. Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed Saudi Arabia's active participation in regional and international forums aimed at promoting security and stability, as well as addressing global challenges.



A notable point in the meeting was the Cabinet's endorsement of the ministerial statement from Madrid concerning Gaza, which called for an end to Israeli aggression and urged international accountability, as well as facilitating humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian populace. The Cabinet also discussed Saudi Arabia's address at the 68th session of the International Atomic Energy Agency General Conference, emphasizing the Kingdom’s national nuclear energy initiatives and plans to host an international conference on nuclear emergencies by the end of 2025.



Further, the Cabinet highlighted Saudi Arabia's focus during G20 meetings on fostering international cooperation to ensure global food security and to promote advancements in the space economy. The session also acknowledged the outcomes of various international conferences hosted by the Kingdom, reflecting its aspirations to enhance its global standing. Noteworthy was the 3rd Global AI Summit, which resulted in the launch of numerous initiatives and over 80 agreements aimed at bolstering technological innovation and supporting sustainable development.



The Cabinet celebrated Saudi Arabia's achievement as a Tier 1 role model in the United Nations Global Cybersecurity Index 2024, showcasing the Kingdom’s progress in international cybersecurity standards. Economic statistics were reviewed, revealing a stable inflation rate of 1.6% and a 4.9% growth in non-oil activities, affirming the resilience of the Kingdom’s economy.



In addition to these discussions, the Cabinet made several key decisions, including authorizing the Minister of Foreign Affairs to finalize agreements with Egypt, approving amendments for the Saudi-Jordanian Coordination Council, and promoting collaboration with international bodies in various sectors.
