Riyadh, October 16, 2024 – The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development of Saudi Arabia, Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi, met today with Uganda’s Minister of State for Labour, Employment, and Industrial Relations, Davinia Esther Anyakun, to discuss strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations, particularly in the labor sector.
During the meeting, Al-Rajhi underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Uganda in the context of the labor market, highlighting opportunities for mutual benefit and growth. He emphasized that collaboration in this area would contribute to strengthening workforce mobility, improving employment conditions, and enhancing labor market regulations in both countries.
Al-Rajhi also took the opportunity to extend a formal invitation to Anyakun to participate in the second Global Labor Market Conference, scheduled to take place in Riyadh from January 29 to 30, 2025. The upcoming conference will serve as a global platform for discussing labor market challenges, opportunities, and innovations, and Al-Rajhi expressed confidence that Uganda’s participation would contribute to the exchange of valuable insights on labor market reforms and international cooperation.
The meeting highlights the Kingdom’s continued efforts to foster international partnerships in the field of labor and employment, reflecting its commitment to promoting collaboration and dialogue on global labor issues.
