At the World Economic Forum (WEF), an occasion that brings together the world's top political, corporate, and cultural leaders, in Davos, Switzerland, Hyundai Motor Group (the Group) is pushing the South Korean city of Busan's proposal to host World EXPO 2030.
The group is operating a fleet of 58 vehicles during the forum, which is taking place from January 16 to January 20, wrapped with Busan's World Expo 2030 logo to promote the city to the conference's attendees, who include Swiss nationals, international business executives, and other tourists.
The fleet consists of 45 eco-friendly models, including 18 Genesis Electrified G80, 8 GV60, 4 Electrified GV70, and 15 Hyundai Santa Fe plug-in hybrid vehicles, in keeping with Busan's World Expo goal for a sustainable future ('Transforming Our World, Navigating Towards a Better Future'). Additionally, IONIQ 5 units are placed near event sites together with specialized EV charging stations to offer emergency charging using the model's Vehicle to Load (V2L) capability.
The fleet's wrapped vehicles will serve as moving billboards to advertise Busan as the host city for the World Expo 2030, in addition to serving as the official transportation for the forum's Korean participants.
The group set up safety precautions to support the fleet in the event of any unexpected changes in the winter weather or other situations. AWD and winter tires are being installed on the fleet, and a committed technical team is present to ensure safety.
The Genesis X concept car is also on exhibit by the group at the entrance to the event space hosting 'Korea Night' during the WEF. The concept vehicle showcases Genesis' fresh approach to environmentally friendly premium automotive design.
In the months leading up to the WEF, the Group additionally supported Busan's bid at the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) General Assembly in Paris in June and November of last year using fleet cars that were wrapped with the Busan World Expo emblem.
During the official vehicle delivery ceremony at the G20 Bali Summit in Jakarta, Indonesia, in November of last year, the Group additionally supported the Busan World Expo bid with promotional banners and pamphlets.
Additionally, the group is making use of its extensive network to assist the bid further through a variety of marketing initiatives, such as the introduction of new products. Additionally, the group is creating content to showcase Busan's capacity to host the World Expo and its future goals and sharing it on social media sites including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
