Rabat, March 22, 2025 – The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) has welcomed the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) decision to reinstate the Syrian Arab Republic's membership, as announced during the 20th Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah. ICESCO expressed its support for the reactivation of relations between Syria and OIC member states, along with OIC agencies and institutions, in line with the decision.

In a statement on Monday, ICESCO Director-General Salim AlMalik praised the decision as a key step towards enhancing cooperation among OIC member states and strengthening fraternal bonds between them. He emphasized that this move opens new opportunities for collaboration, particularly in education, science, and culture. AlMalik also stressed the importance of the decision in promoting regional stability, upholding shared Islamic values, and reaffirming the commitment to work together for a better future.
