Riyadh, August 16, 2023, The Annual Meetings of the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) came to a close on Wednesday, with Ayman Al-Sayari, the Governor of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) and Chair of the IFSB, presiding over the proceedings. The three-day meetings in Riyadh, hosted by SAMA, saw the gathering of central bank governors, IFSB council members, and esteemed experts from the Islamic financial services industry. During the meetings, the participants engaged in focused discussions surrounding the latest advancements within the Islamic finance sector. The primary objective was to explore diverse strategies aimed at bolstering its resilience and ensuring long-term stability.
In a grand finale, the 42nd Meeting of the Council and the 21st General Assembly took place, drawing the attention of esteemed Governors and Council members. On the sidelines of the annual meetings, a series of events were organized to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB). One of these events was a capacity-building workshop specifically designed for the banking sector.
