Aden, December 19, 2024 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched a specialized volunteer medical project focused on adult urology surgeries in the southern Yemeni province of Aden. This initiative, running from December 15 to 22, is part of a broader effort by Saudi Arabia to offer medical support to Yemen amid its ongoing humanitarian challenges.
The project, which is being carried out in collaboration with the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), involves a team of nine skilled medical volunteers from various specialties. These professionals have been providing much-needed surgical care for adults suffering from urological conditions, helping to address critical healthcare needs in a region that continues to struggle with the impact of conflict and limited medical resources.
Since the campaign’s launch, the volunteer medical team has successfully performed 15 specialized surgeries, demonstrating their expertise and commitment to improving the health and well-being of the local population. This initiative is part of a series of ongoing volunteer medical efforts spearheaded by KSrelief, reflecting Saudi Arabia's continued dedication to supporting Yemen through various humanitarian and development programs. The project aims to not only provide immediate relief but also offer long-term healthcare solutions to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, contributing to the broader efforts to ease the humanitarian crisis in the region.
