Aleppo, February 1, 2025 — In a landmark initiative aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable orphans in Syria, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) officially launched the Aman Project for Orphans in Akhtarin, a town in Syria’s Aleppo Governorate. This humanitarian program is a vital step in offering much-needed support to orphaned children who have been severely impacted by the ongoing crisis in the region.
The Aman Project is designed to provide holistic assistance to 600 orphans living in crisis-stricken areas of Syria, offering them a sense of stability and security in a time of profound uncertainty. The initiative will provide monthly sponsorships to the orphans, addressing their basic needs, and ensuring that they have access to essential services. As part of the project’s comprehensive approach, the initiative will also focus on empowering 150 mothers of orphans, equipping them with valuable skills that can help them build a sustainable future for themselves and their families.
To achieve this, the project will offer skills training in areas such as sewing, livestock farming, dairy and cheese production, and food processing. These training programs will provide mothers with the tools they need to create income-generating opportunities, ultimately contributing to the financial independence and well-being of their households.
In addition to economic support, the Aman Project will provide the orphans with school uniforms, seasonal clothing for both winter and summer, and hygiene kits, ensuring their basic needs are met in a dignified manner. The initiative will also offer psychological support to orphans who have been affected by the trauma of displacement, forced migration, and the aftermath of recent earthquakes. This critical psychological assistance will help these children navigate the emotional challenges they face and support their transition to a safer, more stable life.
This initiative reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian relief and support for vulnerable populations worldwide. The Aman Project for Orphans is an extension of KSrelief’s broader mission to alleviate the suffering of orphaned children, providing them with not only the essentials for daily life but also the tools and support to foster long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
Through projects like the Aman Project, KSrelief continues to play a pivotal role in delivering aid to those most in need, particularly in regions like Syria that have been ravaged by years of conflict. This initiative stands as a testament to Saudi Arabia's dedication to humanitarian values and its role in providing compassionate support to orphans and their families across the globe.
