Riyadh, January 1, 2025 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has signed an important collaboration agreement with a prominent civil society institution to launch the ninth phase of its Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Project in Yemen’s Hudaydah Governorate. The total value of this phase is $359,000. The agreement was formalized at a ceremony held at KSrelief’s headquarters in Riyadh, where Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, the Assistant Supervisor General of KSrelief for Operations and Programs, represented the center.
This phase of the project aims to significantly improve the access to water and sanitation services for the affected population, in a region that has been devastated by ongoing humanitarian crises. The project will directly benefit 131,662 individuals in Hudaydah. Key components of the initiative include the distribution of personal hygiene kits and toilet cleaning supplies, the installation of 20 mobile toilets, and the provision of safe, clean drinking water for domestic use. These services will help prevent the spread of waterborne diseases and improve the overall hygiene and sanitation conditions in the region.
The agreement is part of KSrelief's ongoing efforts to address critical needs in Yemen, particularly in the water and sanitation sectors, which are vital to preventing disease outbreaks and improving quality of life. Through this initiative, Saudi Arabia reaffirms its commitment to providing sustainable environmental solutions to those in need, supporting health and well-being in communities facing the dire consequences of the conflict. The project forms part of a broader series of humanitarian relief efforts funded by the Kingdom to enhance living conditions and promote long-term sustainability in affected regions.
