Amman, January 17, 2025 – As part of its continuing efforts to provide vital humanitarian assistance, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed shopping vouchers to 2,217 individuals in Jordan on Wednesday. The vouchers were provided to allow beneficiaries to purchase winter clothing from designated stores in the governorates of Maan, Irbid, and Madaba. The distribution is part of the third phase of KSrelief’s Winter Clothing Distribution Project (Kanaf), which aims to ease the burden of harsh winter conditions for vulnerable communities in Jordan.
Among the beneficiaries of the program, 365 families, including both Syrian refugee families and host community members, received vital support to help them cope with the challenges of the cold winter months. By offering shopping vouchers, KSrelief empowers families to select clothing based on their specific needs, ensuring that the assistance provided is both practical and effective in addressing the immediate winter-related challenges they face.
This distribution is an essential part of Saudi Arabia’s broader humanitarian efforts, particularly in regions where communities have been severely affected by conflict and displacement. Through its ongoing programs, KSrelief seeks to provide timely and relevant support to both refugees and host communities, alleviating their suffering and improving their living conditions during particularly difficult times, such as the winter season.
The Winter Clothing Distribution Project (Kanaf) reflects Saudi Arabia’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian aid, which includes a range of initiatives designed to meet the basic needs of displaced populations and other vulnerable groups in the region. The project not only provides physical relief but also contributes to the overall well-being and dignity of individuals and families struggling to cope with the economic and environmental challenges posed by displacement.
KSrelief’s initiative in Jordan, along with its other projects across the region, is a testament to the Kingdom’s ongoing support for those in need. The shopping voucher program in Maan, Irbid, and Madaba underscores the importance of tailoring aid to the specific needs of affected communities and further solidifies Saudi Arabia’s role as a leading provider of humanitarian assistance in the Middle East.
