In Jordan's Zaatari Camp, 2,578 Syrian refugees receive medical care from KSrelief Clinics.

KSrelief provided medical services to 2,578 patients at the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan during the second week of December 2024, covering a wide range of specialties including general medicine, pediatrics, dentistry, and emergency care.


Amman, Jordan, December 28, 2024 — In a significant healthcare initiative aimed at improving the well-being of Syrian refugees, the King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Aid Center (KSrelief) provided essential medical services to 2,578 patients in the Zaatari refugee camp during the second week of December 2024. This effort underscores Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to supporting displaced populations in Jordan, particularly in the area of healthcare, through comprehensive medical assistance.


During the specified period, the KSrelief clinics in Zaatari offered a wide range of services across various specialized medical fields. The general medicine clinics served 552 patients, conducting routine examinations and providing necessary medications. Additionally, the internal medicine clinic treated 137 patients suffering from chronic health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma, ensuring that these individuals receive ongoing care for their conditions.


In the pediatric clinic, 265 children received treatment for a variety of health concerns, with a focus on the unique needs of young patients. The emergency department attended to 249 individuals facing urgent medical issues, while the dental clinic saw 154 patients, addressing oral health concerns in the refugee population. Women’s healthcare was prioritized with 219 women receiving care at the women’s clinic, further underscoring KSrelief’s commitment to comprehensive healthcare for all members of the refugee community.


Additionally, specialized clinics such as the ear, nose, and throat (ENT) clinic treated 57 patients, many of whom presented with common ailments such as sinus infections, pharyngeal issues, and tonsillitis. The ophthalmology clinic treated 53 patients for vision-related issues, while the cardiology clinic provided care to 21 patients with heart conditions. The diagnostic radiology clinic performed 141 X-rays on 110 patients, while the rehabilitation medicine clinic treated 35 individuals requiring physical rehabilitation.


The laboratory department also played a critical role, conducting 541 tests for 183 patients, while the vaccination clinic administered 147 vaccines to 59 individuals, contributing to the broader efforts to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. For those with chronic conditions, 321 patients received medications for their ongoing health issues, and 74 individuals attended health education sessions aimed at promoting wellness and prevention. Furthermore, the physical therapy department provided care to 68 patients, helping individuals recover from injuries or manage physical disabilities.


Throughout the week, the pharmacy processed 1,665 prescriptions, ensuring that patients received the necessary medications in a timely and efficient manner. This comprehensive healthcare provision was part of KSrelief’s broader strategy to support the Syrian refugee population in Jordan, addressing both immediate medical needs and long-term health concerns in a humanitarian context.


This effort reflects KSrelief’s continued dedication to improving the lives of vulnerable communities, particularly refugees who often face significant challenges in accessing healthcare.
