Amman, March 06, 2025 – In a remarkable display of ongoing humanitarian efforts, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s (KSrelief) clinics at the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan provided comprehensive healthcare services to a total of 2,668 patients over the past week. The clinics continue to serve as a crucial lifeline for the thousands of Syrian refugees living in the camp, offering a wide range of medical treatments and healthcare services to meet the needs of the camp’s diverse population.

During the past week, the general medicine clinics received 940 patients, addressing a variety of health concerns. Meanwhile, the internal medicine clinic treated 125 patients, many of whom were managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma. These treatments are vital in ensuring that individuals with ongoing health issues receive the necessary care to manage their conditions effectively.

The pediatric clinic, focusing on the needs of young children, provided care to 256 children, addressing various common health concerns for this vulnerable group. Additionally, the dental clinic at Zaatari Camp saw 195 patients, offering essential oral health care to refugees who otherwise might have limited access to such services.

In the gynecology department, two specialized clinics received a total of 260 female patients, providing necessary reproductive health services to women in the camp. The ear, nose, and throat (ENT) clinic treated 71 patients suffering from conditions such as sinus issues, throat infections, tonsillitis, and middle ear infections, while the eye clinic provided treatment to 63 patients in need of eye care.

The cardiology clinic also catered to the needs of 22 patients, ensuring that individuals with heart-related issues received specialized care. Diagnostic radiology services were in high demand, with 20 patients undergoing assessments, while 104 patients received X-rays. These services are critical in diagnosing conditions that may otherwise go untreated in the absence of such facilities.

Furthermore, the dermatology clinic saw 34 patients, treating various skin conditions, while the rehabilitation medicine clinic offered care to 24 individuals requiring physical rehabilitation. To support the overall health of the camp's population, 1,890 laboratory tests were conducted for 262 patients, facilitating accurate diagnoses and timely treatments.

The immunization clinic played an important role in preventing the spread of diseases, administering vaccines to 91 patients. In addition, the health education department provided essential health education sessions to 71 individuals and groups, equipping them with the knowledge needed to maintain better health in the refugee environment. Physical therapy services were also in demand, with the department conducting 130 sessions to support the rehabilitation of patients recovering from injuries or illnesses.

KSrelief’s ongoing efforts in providing healthcare at the Zaatari Refugee Camp reflect Saudi Arabia’s commitment to improving the living conditions and well-being of Syrian refugees. By offering these critical medical services, KSrelief is helping to ensure that vulnerable populations in the camp receive the care they need to lead healthier lives amidst challenging circumstances. The center continues to be an indispensable resource for thousands of refugees, addressing both immediate health needs and long-term well-being.
