KSrelief's Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Project: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) is conducting a pediatric cardiac surgery and catheterization initiative in Nouakchott, Mauritania, with 28 medical volunteers from various specialties.

Nouakchott, December 18, 2024 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) is currently conducting a voluntary medical initiative aimed at providing pediatric cardiac surgery and catheterization in Nouakchott, Mauritania. The medical mission, which began on December 13 and is set to continue until December 22, brings together a dedicated team of 28 medical professionals from various specialties, all working to address the critical healthcare needs of children in the region.

Since the campaign's inception, the KSrelief medical team has already achieved significant success, performing 10 open-heart surgeries and five cardiac catheterization procedures. These procedures have provided life-saving treatment to young patients who otherwise would not have had access to such specialized care. The ongoing project aims to carry out a total of 25 open-heart surgeries and 50 cardiac catheterizations by the end of the initiative, further demonstrating KSrelief’s commitment to alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations.

This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader humanitarian efforts, spearheaded by KSrelief, which continues to extend critical medical aid across the globe. Through this program, KSrelief not only seeks to improve the health and well-being of children in Mauritania but also reinforces Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting international communities in need, exemplifying the Kingdom's dedication to humanitarian work on a global scale.
