Nouakchott, December 17, 2024 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched a voluntary medical project focused on adult urology surgeries in Nouakchott, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. This initiative, which runs from December 13 to 22, brings together a team of eight highly skilled volunteers from various medical specialties, aiming to provide vital surgical care to those in need.
Since the commencement of the project, the volunteer medical team has made significant progress, successfully performing 25 specialized urology surgeries, with a target of completing 70 procedures by the conclusion of the project. The surgeries cover a range of urological conditions and are essential for improving the quality of life for Mauritanians suffering from related health issues.
This project is part of Saudi Arabia's broader humanitarian efforts spearheaded by KSrelief, which has long been committed to alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations around the world. KSrelief's medical initiatives focus on providing essential healthcare services, particularly in underserved regions where access to advanced medical care may be limited. Through these voluntary medical missions, KSrelief continues to contribute to global healthcare needs, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s commitment to international humanitarian assistance.
The urology medical project in Mauritania not only addresses immediate health needs but also reinforces the Kingdom's ongoing support for medical relief in Africa and beyond. By deploying volunteer medical teams and providing essential care in regions with limited resources, KSrelief’s initiative contributes to the improvement of health outcomes and underscores the importance of humanitarian collaboration in addressing global health challenges.
