In partnership with the ITU, the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission is organizing the Second International Forum on Non-Terrestrial Networks.


On November 25 and 26, 2024, in Riyadh, the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission will host the second International Forum on Non-Terrestrial Networks.


The forum intends to support ecologically friendly communication infrastructure, foster research and innovation in non-terrestrial network technologies, link rural places, and provide technological solutions for communication services.


The forum will include talks and panel discussions on the technical and regulatory implications of non-terrestrial network services, as well as presentations on cutting edge technological experiments and the announcement of the winners of the IEEE Competition on Non-Terrestrial Networks for 6G.

The second "International Forum on Non-Terrestrial Networks" will be held in Riyadh on November 25 and 26, hosted by the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission and the International Telecommunication Union.The forum will be hosted by Eng. Abdullah Amer Al-Swaha, who is also the Chairman of the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission and the Minister of Communications and Information Technology.The forum, "Shaping an Integrated Future for Communication Systems," seeks to further research and innovation in non-terrestrial network technologies, support the development of environmentally sustainable communication infrastructure, and keep up with the quick advancement of communication services. It also aims to provide technological solutions that benefit humanity and connect remote areas. The legislation and uses of non-terrestrial networks in digital transformation will also be improved by this endeavor.The IEEE Competition on Non-Terrestrial Networks for 6G is being organized by the commission in association with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. This is the second iteration of the competition. Presentations on the outcomes of cutting-edge technological experiments in the realm of non-terrestrial networks will be made at the forum. The forum will also declare the winners of the competition. In addition, noteworthy non-terrestrial network services, together with their technical and regulatory implications, will be examined through panel discussions and expert presentations.The Communications, Space, and Technology Commission co-hosted the inaugural event in 2022 alongside the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Over 130 countries were represented by the participants.
