Ashgabat, March 14, 2025 – In a groundbreaking initiative, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) successfully conducted a volunteer medical project focused on urological surgeries for children in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The project, which took place from February 21 to 28, marked a significant milestone as the first of its kind in the country. The team of 14 volunteer medical professionals from various specialties worked tirelessly to provide specialized care and medical intervention to children in need of urological treatment.

Over the course of the week-long mission, the medical team performed 45 specialized surgeries, all of which were completed successfully. These surgeries, critical for addressing various urological conditions, were carried out with precision, ensuring the health and well-being of the young patients. The initiative not only provided immediate relief but also highlighted the importance of offering specialized healthcare services in countries with limited access to such expertise.

KSrelief's volunteer medical team, composed of highly skilled surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and medical assistants, collaborated closely with local healthcare providers to ensure the successful execution of the project. The team’s efforts were complemented by their commitment to training and sharing knowledge with local medical personnel, enhancing the long-term capacity of Turkmenistan’s healthcare system.

This medical initiative is part of KSrelief’s broader mission to provide quality healthcare to vulnerable communities around the world, particularly in regions where specialized medical services are scarce. The project in Ashgabat is a testament to Saudi Arabia’s ongoing dedication to improving global health outcomes, especially for children facing serious medical conditions.

By delivering crucial medical care, this project not only alleviated immediate health challenges but also set the stage for future collaborative efforts to enhance healthcare infrastructure and expertise in Turkmenistan. The success of the urological surgery initiative in Ashgabat exemplifies the effectiveness of humanitarian aid in addressing healthcare gaps and improving the lives of those in need.
