Interior Ministry Extends 50 Percent Reduction on Accumulated Traffic Fines Upon Leadership Directives

The initiative aims to promote road safety and reduce financial burdens while encouraging compliance with traffic laws.
Saudi Arabia extended the 50 percent reduction on accumulated traffic fines for an additional six months, covering violations before April 18, 2024.

On October 17, 2024, the Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia announced the extension of a 50 percent reduction on accumulated traffic fines for an additional six months, following the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The reduction applies to violations that were incurred before April 18, 2024, and offers violators a significant opportunity to settle their fines at a reduced cost.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic regulations to ensure road safety, urging all drivers to take advantage of this extended reduction period. Individuals can reduce their fines by 50 percent if they settle all accumulated traffic violations by April 18, 2025. Drivers have the option of paying the fines in full or settling each violation individually, provided that they refrain from committing any further traffic violations, particularly those that pose a risk to public safety.

This initiative reflects the government's efforts to promote safer driving habits and encourage compliance with traffic laws, while also providing relief to those facing substantial financial burdens due to accumulated fines.
