Jeddah, August 1, 2023, Yesterday, the Faculty of Marine Sciences at King Abdulaziz University had the honor of hosting a delegation from the esteemed International Maritime Organization (IMO). In a warm and welcoming gesture, Dr. Faisal bin Wahes Al-Thibiani, the esteemed Dean of the Faculty, graciously received the visitors.
In a bid to enhance the efficiency of maritime regulations and conform with international agreements, the primary objective of the visit is to expand areas of cooperation in the maritime field and strengthen the partnership between the two sides.
During the visit, attendees were treated to a comprehensive presentation that provided an in-depth introduction to the faculty, its various programs, objectives, and impressive capabilities. Following the presentation, participants were taken on an extensive tour of the simulator pavilion, which showcased a multitude of essential areas. These included the command room, engine room, control and machinery room, navigation systems simulator, marine communications, lifeboat platform, firefighting simulator, and marine engineering workshop.
