Jeddah, January 30, 2025 – The second edition of the Islamic Arts Biennale, titled "And All That Is In Between," opened with great fanfare at the Western Hajj Terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, organized by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation. This prestigious event provides a unique opportunity to explore and appreciate the rich artistic legacy of Islamic civilization through the works of over 30 distinguished artists from Saudi Arabia and around the world.

The exhibition presents an exceptional array of artistic expressions that delve into the diverse and continued contributions of Islamic culture to the global art scene. The works span various mediums, combining contemporary creativity with traditional Islamic motifs, offering a comprehensive view of how faith and culture are expressed through art. The Biennale is designed to highlight the deep connections between the spiritual, intellectual, and sensory aspects of artistic creation, showcasing how Islamic heritage continues to inspire and influence modern-day artistic practices.

Visitors to the Biennale will experience an impressive display of works across five indoor galleries and multiple outdoor spaces, where contemporary art pieces interact with historical artifacts, religious objects, intricate jewelry, and detailed maps. One of the key themes explored in this year’s Biennale is the concept of gardens within Islamic civilization, which serves as a symbol of paradise and harmony with nature. Through this theme, artists examine traditional Islamic garden designs, the natural world, and contemporary environmental and social issues, blending the past and present in thought-provoking ways.

This edition of the Islamic Arts Biennale provides an enriching platform for cultural exchange and a deeper understanding of how Islamic art continues to shape modern artistic thought, connecting the past with the present and highlighting the ever-evolving creative expressions of faith.
