Islamic Awareness Secretariat promotes Ramadan awareness under Ministry's guidance

Makkah, April 4, 2024, The General Secretariat for Islamic Awareness in Hajj and Umrah, operating under the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, remains actively engaged in its Ramadan awareness initiatives. These programs encompass daily religious lessons and lectures, particularly focused on the last 10 days of Ramadan, a period of heightened spiritual significance.

The religious lessons are conducted in a multitude of languages by a dedicated team of official preachers and translators, stationed at mosques near the Grand Mosque in Mecca. Through these sessions, the Ramadan awareness programs aim to elucidate various aspects of Islamic practices, including the rituals of Umrah, the virtues of Ramadan, the regulations surrounding Itikaf (a period of religious seclusion), Zakat Al-Fitr, Eid celebrations, and the broader merits of Islam.

Particularly emphasized is the importance of adhering to the teachings outlined in the Holy Quran and the Sunnah (traditions of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him). These educational endeavors are designed to equip Umrah performers with a comprehensive understanding of their religious duties, ensuring that they can fulfill their rituals under Islamic principles.

Moreover, these programs also spotlight the ongoing efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in catering to the needs of Umrah performers and visitors, underscoring the country's commitment to serving pilgrims and fostering a spiritually enriching experience during the holy month of Ramadan.
