Islamic Development Bank Delegation Engages at COP28 in Dubai

Led by President Dr. Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al-Jasser, the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) delegation participated in the 28th Conference of the Parties of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai. The delegation, representing all IsDB Group entities, showcased the bank's climate initiative and strategic plans, positioning it as a global leader in climate initiatives.

Dr. Al-Jasser emphasized IsDB's commitment to collaboration, innovation, and fostering a sustainable future. He reiterated the bank's dedication to a just transition for member states and its strong adherence to climate action. Highlighting IsDB Group's crucial role in COP28, he emphasized the group's contribution to sustainable development.

The IsDB aims to align its expertise and resources with COP28, addressing climate challenges and fully aligning its operations with the Paris Agreement objectives by the end of 2023. Dr. Al-Jasser noted that the bank actively supports member states' Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and long-term climate strategies, promoting a fair transition to low-carbon development—a testament to IsDB's unwavering commitment to a green climate.
