Cairo, March 03, 2025 – The Arab Parliament has strongly condemned the Israeli government's recent decision to halt humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, labeling it a grave violation of international humanitarian law and a war crime against humanity. In a statement issued on Sunday, the Arab Parliament described the suspension of aid as an unconscionable act that disregards the fundamental rights of civilians in conflict zones, particularly in Gaza, where thousands of innocent lives are at risk.

The parliament emphasized that this decision is in clear violation of numerous international agreements designed to ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance during times of conflict. These agreements, which are enshrined in international law, guarantee that aid must be allowed to reach vulnerable populations without obstruction, especially during periods of severe humanitarian crises. The parliament's statement noted that Israel’s actions undermine these critical legal frameworks and escalate the already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Furthermore, the Arab Parliament issued a strong call to the international community, urging immediate and decisive action from the United Nations Security Council to compel Israel to lift the blockade on humanitarian aid and allow it to enter Gaza without any further delay or conditions. The parliament warned that Israel’s actions are putting the lives of countless innocent civilians in grave danger by using starvation and deprivation as weapons of war—an especially egregious strategy given that the decision comes during the holy month of Ramadan, a time when the Gaza population is traditionally more vulnerable.

In addition to its calls for international intervention, the parliament’s statement reflected the deep concern of Arab nations regarding the human toll of the ongoing blockade and its disproportionate impact on children, the elderly, and those in need of urgent medical care. The Arab Parliament reiterated its commitment to standing in solidarity with the people of Gaza and called on all responsible global actors to take immediate steps to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and ensure the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

This condemnation further highlights the growing international pressure on Israel to reverse its decision, and it reinforces the urgency of finding a peaceful and just resolution to the ongoing crisis. The Arab Parliament’s statement serves as a reminder of the critical role of international cooperation in addressing human rights violations and ensuring that humanitarian assistance reaches those most in need, regardless of political conflicts.
