Riyadh, August 29, 2023, The contract naming Italian coach Roberto Mancini as head coach of the first Saudi national football team until 2027 was signed by Yasser Al-Mis'hal, president of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, in Riyadh this evening. Al-Mishal explained the delay in choosing a new coach and coming to an agreement with him in a press conference after the signing ceremony as a means of guaranteeing the accuracy, focus, and availability of the necessary standards in the coach of the Saudi national team during the next stage, especially in light of the great renaissance that football is experiencing in line with the aspirations of the Kingdom's leadership, who generously supports the sports sector, similar to the various other types of support they provide. Mancini, for his part, expressed gratitude for the welcome he received upon entering the Kingdom. He noted the plans and objectives of the Football Federation that are intended to keep pace with the next stage, particularly with regard to the first national team, and emphasized the need to collaborate with his team and the Football Federation in order to achieve objectives that are deserving of the name of the Saudi national team.
