Jazan Border Guards Arrest 4 for Attempting to Smuggle 240 Kg of Khat

Border Guards in Jazan apprehended four individuals, including Ethiopians and Yemenis, for smuggling 240 kilograms of the narcotic khat plant.

Four people, including Ethiopians and Yemenis, were detained by border guards in Jazan for smuggling 240 kg of the khat plant, a narcotic. After receiving the necessary paperwork, the police detained the suspects and confiscated the drugs.


Residents and citizens of Saudi Arabia are urged to alert the authorities to any questionable drug trafficking or smuggling activity.



"Jizan, August 13, 2024." Four people, including Ethiopians and Yemenis, were detained by border guards on land patrols in Al Dayer, Jazan, for violating the Border Security Law. These people were trying to smuggle 240 kg of the psychoactive herb known as khat.


The law enforcement agencies in charge of their management have been served with the initial legal documents, made arrests, and taken drugs.


All Saudi nationals and residents are cordially encouraged by the security authorities to report any suspicious drug trafficking or smuggling activities they suspect may be occurring right away.
