Jazan, October 02, 2023, The Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries has reached a significant milestone with the departure of its maiden ship destined for New Orleans, United States. This ship carries a cargo of 37,000 tons of iron steel foundry product (Pig iron), marking the Kingdom's first-ever production of this commodity. The iron was produced at the Advanced Smelting Industries Company (ASIC) located within the city.
Notably, the city's port is equipped with extensive capabilities and advanced logistical transportation services, solidifying its status as a crucial trade hub in Saudi Arabia. Situated as one of the region's newest ports, it strategically lies along the international trade route through the Red Sea, in close proximity to the Bab Al-Mandab Strait, African nations, and the maritime Silk Road. Consequently, this port plays a pivotal role as a gateway for the southern regions and neighboring African countries.
