Jazan, March 09, 2025 — In a recent security operation, the Border Guard patrols in the Jazan Region successfully apprehended a violator of the Border Security Law, an Ethiopian national, who was found attempting to smuggle large quantities of illegal substances into the Kingdom. The individual was arrested in Fayfa Governorate, a region known for its border proximity and strategic importance. During the operation, security forces seized a total of 95,970 medically regulated pills, along with 33 kilograms of hashish, highlighting the significant scale of the smuggling attempt.
In addition to the drugs, authorities also confiscated two firearms from the suspect’s possession, further indicating the serious nature of the crime. The suspect was immediately arrested and legal procedures were initiated. He has since been referred to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and prosecution under Saudi law.
The Border Guard and other relevant security authorities continue to remain vigilant in their efforts to combat illegal trafficking and smuggling activities along the Kingdom's borders.
