Jeddah, February 29, 2024, Under the esteemed patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Al Balad Development Company, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the Jeddah Historic District Program proudly unveiled the inauguration of the first trio of heritage hotels in the heart of Jeddah's historic quarter.
This landmark initiative, executed with meticulous attention to detail, saw the meticulous restoration and rehabilitation of Beit Jokhdar, Beit Al-Rayess, and Beit Kedwan, preserving their distinct architectural charm while adhering to the highest international standards and UNESCO guidelines. Jeddah Historic District earned its prestigious classification as a World Heritage Site in 2014, further underlining the significance of this endeavor.
Managed and operated by Al Balad Development Company, these three heritage hotels are part of a comprehensive restoration project encompassing a total of 34 heritage buildings. Each hotel has been imbued with a modern vision, aiming to not only safeguard and celebrate the Kingdom's rich heritage but also to provide immersive experiences for visitors keen on exploring the area's storied past.
Beit Jokhdar stands out with its elaborately adorned wooden balconies, a hallmark of traditional Arabian architecture, while Beit Al-Rayess boasts an interior design where every room offers vistas of a serene courtyard enveloped by columns crowned with stone arches. Meanwhile, Beit Kedwan enjoys a prime location near Naseef Square in the bustling Al-Alawi Market, adding to its allure.
Upon completion, the hotels will be entrusted to Albalad Hospitality, the operational arm of Al Balad Development Company, with a mission to curate unique and authentic hospitality experiences.
