Jeddah Gears Up for First Edition of Women's Amateur Football League


Jeddah, August 23, 2024 – Excitement is building in Jeddah as the city prepares to host the inaugural 2024 Women’s Amateur Football League, set to kick off in early September. This landmark event will feature six teams competing in what promises to be an exciting and highly anticipated tournament.


The official draw for the league was conducted at the Jeddah Youth Hostel, a significant moment attended by key figures including Abutaleb Al-Awaji, the secretary-general of the Jeddah Football League. The draw marked a major step forward in organizing and finalizing the league’s structure and matchups.


Ahmed Al-Sahli, a board member of the Amateur Football League (AFL) responsible for overseeing the technical committees, provided an update on the preparations. He confirmed that arrangements for the league's debut are progressing smoothly, with technical and administrative committees working diligently to ensure everything is in place. Additionally, women referees and match supervisors are being prepared to uphold the standards of the league and ensure a successful competition.
