The third edition of the Million Volunteers Forum, organized by Jeddah Municipality, set a new Guinness World Record with the participation of 1,277 volunteers.

Jeddah, January 20, 2025 — The Jeddah Municipality successfully hosted the third edition of the Million Volunteers Forum, an event that not only brought together a large number of participants but also led to the achievement of a new Guinness World Record for 2025. A total of 1,277 volunteers participated in the event, contributing to this remarkable accomplishment, which earned the forum a Guinness certificate in recognition of the achievement.

Eng. Hattan bin Hashem Hamouda, the Director General of Community Responsibility at Jeddah Municipality, explained that this year’s edition of the forum was focused on several key areas, including workshops and discussions aimed at raising awareness about the importance and impact of volunteer work. The event provided a platform to showcase the growing significance of volunteerism in Jeddah, especially in supporting various government initiatives and services.

In his remarks, Hamouda emphasized that the forum was not only an opportunity to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of volunteers in Jeddah but also aimed to position the city as a model for attracting proactive volunteers who can further support the development of community-based initiatives. He further highlighted that the Jeddah Municipality has launched a range of initiatives that have encouraged volunteer participation, helping to achieve this exceptional milestone.

The success of the Million Volunteers Forum builds on Jeddah’s track record of setting global benchmarks in community-driven efforts. Notably, in 2023, the municipality set its first Guinness World Record by sponsoring the creation of the world’s largest mural made entirely of plastic covers. The ongoing efforts of the municipality to engage volunteers and foster civic responsibility reflect Jeddah's commitment to driving positive change and supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

This event not only spotlighted the vital role of volunteers in the Kingdom’s social development but also underscored the city’s strategic focus on creating an environment conducive to active citizenship and community engagement.
